today was a draw all day kind of day
i made this guy tonight, im going to experiment with some digital coloring methods and then make him into a GIF! so he can prance in circles forever!
i was hanging out with some kiddos the other day. one of them was copying some doodles from my sketchbook. its fun to see how kids see things
i haven’t put anything up in a while because I’ve been so busy with midterms and whatnot, but here’s one project I’ve been working on for a while. its roboclaus 5000, specially designed to deliver presents to all the space babies. modeled and textured and lit in maya. this was fun, and we’re already starting our finals!
“Maze” by James Jean
just went to see James Jean give a talk at my school and it was awesome! he was one of the first artists i started to follow back in high school, but hearing him talk rekindled my obsession with the stuff he makes. he made a lot of cool points in his talk, but he said something about making art that functions from far away but maintains interest in the details. my work seems to fall apart when looked at real close. but im feeling inspired, time to go draw more!
i have a growing list of works in progress that i don’t have time to finish. i started this series about awkward assassinations. I’m not sure why i thought this would be a good idea… but i like it so far haha.
hopefully ill get time soon to finish and perhaps color it.
